In 2017 ‘the Underdog’ returns to World Series Sprintcars as Driver for the Mat Eastham Victory 88 Sprintcar Team. “World Series Sprintcars is a big ticket item I need to tick from my bucket list,” Murcott said “and to have the opportunity to bid for a series win this time with Mat at my side, well I consider myself pretty fortunate.”

Murcott has finished runner-up in the series on 2 previous occasions and claims in Series 31 everybody is going to be trying to win, “So they will be chasing me, we need to do the best we can and stay one step ahead.”

For team owner Mat Eastham “It’s my first attempt at WSS as Team Owner and Crew Chief, the goal for me is to complete the series and the results will look after themselves. I’m sure that like most we will have some good nights and some poor nights, we need to minimize the bad ones and capitalize on the good ones.”
