KRE SPEEDWEEK…powerful and reliable.
One of the exciting components of QSS World Series Sprintcars is Speedweek. Speedway Australia welcomes Kenny and Wendy McNamara of KRE Race Engines in Brisbane as partners to the high intensity, drama charged mini-series that has become a fan favourite.
Speedweek (Boxing Day to New Years Day) is a holiday destination for many of Australia’s Speedway fans with 5 nights of great racing over 7 days. Traditionally this competition features many of the top rated Australian Drivers and Internationals racing at four of the toughest racetracks in Australia.
Murray Bridge, Mt Gambier, Avalon and Warrnambool will play host to the 5 nights of competition this season beginning with a 2 Round/2 Night at Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway.
Event Manager for the Murray Bridge venue Darren Shaddock is excited by the opportunity to host the 2 opening rounds of KRE Speedweek and QSS WSS31. “Boxing Day is traditionally the biggest day of the year for fan attendance at any Speedway, we look forward to putting on a great show for the fans and the competitors.”
Shaddock holds in high regard the teams that compete in KRE Speedweek. “I’m amazed how these teams back up from night to night during this competition, I guess that’s what makes it so exciting, throw in the travel component of getting from venue to venue, well you just have to applaud these teams for the commitment.”
For defending Speedweek Champion James McFadden, having KRE on board is ‘kind-a-kool’. “I did my apprenticeship at Kenny and Wendy’s KRE and have a good friendship with them, so I look forward to catching up with them during the Series.” McFadden said. “I love this time of year, you get so much seat time and if you have a good night, you get the chance to go out and do it all over again the next night.”
The McNamara's are proud to be on board with Speedweek and QSS World Series Sprintcars. ”We have a long association with many of the teams who will compete in the series including Monte Motorsports and Sean Dyson of Dyson Motorsport.” Wendy said. “It’s has a Speedway family feel for us.”
Dyson Motorsport, who will field the Carson Macedo piloted Complete Parts and Equipment No.99 HPC applauds Ken and Wendy’s generosity in supporting Speedweek and the sport of Sprintcar racing. “They are passionate about Sprintcars and I trust they will enjoy the association.” Dyson said.
